It has been a journey both tedious and exciting, but we finally succeeded in getting an Article V Convention of States resolution passed in the Alabama House and Senate. We are so thankful for the dedication of our Legislative Liaison Terry Richmond, our district captains, and the legislators who lead the passage of the resolution. Representative Ken Johnson (AL-7) and 52 co-sponsors sponsored HJR112 in the House, and Senator Arthur Orr (AL-3) carried it in the Senate with the help of Senate Majority Leader Jabo Waggoner (AL-16). I am also grateful to the support of my own state senator this year, Senator Del Marsh (AL-12).

Alabama’s state motto comes to mind. Audemus Jura Nostra Defendere: We Dare Defend Our Rights!

This is not a rebellious revolution seeking to overthrow that for which our forefathers bled and built. It is a conservation of principles that are being eroded away; an assertion of our American understanding of federal republican government. We look forward to seeing at least 30 more states pass resolutions to call for an Article V Convention of the States!
