So now…

I have had quite a lot going on lately. This week began with a mild amount of house cleaning, as we were preparing for company. John Y. is our guest this time (I’ve mentioned his previous visits before). We always have such a great time when he visits. He rented some movies for us (we really enjoyed The Incredibles).

We have actually had rain these past few days! Perhaps nothing that matches up to the 12 inches that we have missed so far, but it is, nevertheless, rain. The humidity in the air has consequently been jacked up.

Grandmomma and Granddaddy graciously invited us over for dinner yesterday evening. The food was delicious (shepherd’s pie, creamed corn, fried okra, salad with feta cheese, olive oil and vinegar, italian style bread, macaroni and cheese, sweet iced tea and, for dessert, strawberry shortcake and coffee).

The children watched the new fangled Barbie edition of The Nutcraker. Grandmomma and John Y. gave Rachel and me a lesson in playing Bridge. It is quite a mind challenging game, but fun when you get the hang of it. Rachel and Grandmomma were partners, John Y. and I were partners. Rachel has this little winning tendency about her, I’m convinced. Just like our dad. Winning a game – any game – just comes naturally.

I’m trying to keep up with my various projects now. Mom gave me two 16 x 20 (inches, of course) canvas panels. Grandmomma suggested that I try selling some chicken prints…chicken art work is really popular now, especially for kitchens. Mom said I could try something like that through our Fair Hills Farm website. I’ll have awhile to consider that. I haven’t updated that website recently, by the way – haven’t gotten around to it since the computer crashed. I really have no excuse now, however.

I’m working on writing for Not Just An Opinion. I want to make sure that my research and so forth is sound for the topics I decide to write about. I’m really thorough, and use a lot of words at the same time. This shall be an interesting pursuit. It involves lots of factors…like Bridge.

I’m getting ready to dive into my World Views Reformation government study…as soon as I get my resources together.

I’m now working on writing what is known as a Three-Page Treatment. It is a three page synopsis for the movie script I’m working on. It’s the sort of thing that you would present to a producer to convince them that your screenplay is worth looking into. In hopes of getting professional advice, I plan to enter it in the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival’s first Three-Page Treatment Competition this year, LORD willing. Also, I had deliberately intended to not mention it in public because most likely I won’t get close to winning anything. Oh well…now it’s out. Pray that something good comes of these efforts. I would dare to say (as many have said before) that writing the Treatment is far more difficult than writing the script itself. It all lies in using the fewest words to say as much as possible. Strategy…strategy…

“Pray then, in this way: Our FATHER, Who is in Heaven, Hallowed be Your Name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. {For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.}”

~ Matthew 6:9-13

GOD BLESS,

~Amanda~

When I look at our country now, I know that it’s not much longer until the coming of the Lord. How long can our country stand, without a God? I don’t think too long.

I have a Canon Powershot S1 IS, it’s 3.34 million total pixels 3.2 million effective pixels. Plus it has a built in image stabilizer, so the pictures hardly ever turn out blurry.

Hi Amanda,

I love all your entries! I read them quite frequently along with a few other favorites that I have on HSB. You write with what I would call, “gracefulness”. I also love your drawings of the chickens and I’d vote YES try and do some to sell…you could always use the extra $$$ for God’s work in your life.

You’re welcome Amanda. I noticed you went to Six Flags in Georgia…I spent many summers going to that same Six Flags and Stone Mountain. I’m originally from SC so we weren’t too far from Six Flags. I did my own blog design…thank you, I love it too. I also did one for three others if you want to see them…funkyleo, funniebone, and blessedbrea (that one’s not finished yet). I love doing them. Where in KY was your dad at the Racquetball Tourney? We’re just above Lexington/Georgetown area.

Wow! You seem busy! I once wanted to learn how to play bridge but never did… hope you had fun!

I figured you’d be a writer… at least if I was. ; )

Let me know when you post the Blogger Reflection Award… I can’t wait to see who everyone nominated!

Yes… I am surprised at myself… that I linked that post… I look so goofy, but then again I am usually that way. ; ) I am making a Galadriel cloak and am going to post pictures soon!

Love,
Jocelyn

Hi,
Thanks for the comment! Sounds like you are pretty busy. I’ve never tried Bridge before; my parents, Ashley, and I like to play Rook, and my grandparents play with us when they’re here. We have a lot of fun with that!
Good luck with all your projects!
Love,
Briana

Did you know that if you go to your template and change your dotted line pixels to 3.5 instead of just 3 it makes a graduated dotted line…it’s very cool looking…I have it on my blog. I like your post but I think I already said that in another comment. Do you have certain days that you post? Do you have a blog alert thing that notifies people when you’ve posted…I’d love to be added if/when you do get one…

Ah, is there a natural Americana accent? Who has that accent? Where do I have to live to get it? =D

If you come up for your family reunion, you should stop by our house to visit. Rock Falls is around 1 or 2 hours from our house.

Did you get my Girlhood e-mail?

Yep, he was dramatic! =D

I feel the same about YouTube, that is why I use Photobucket. They are a bit better, but not much.

I did notice that it’s time for a new blog, I think I need to start blogging less!

Oh ok, natural and neutral are two different things.

I know, I was just saying that would be cool, =D
